Jakarta Provincial Government under leadership of Acting Governor Teguh Setyabudi provides new innovation namely 'Jakarta Update'.

The program talked various things such as Christmas and New Year, extreme weather mitigation, and up to PAM Jaya water tariff adjustment.

Since the media has a strategic and important role for the Jakarta Provincial Government, Teguh hopes that Jakarta Update can be continued as a forum to deliver Jakarta Provincial Government's policies to the public.

"Hopefully this program can be continued to deliver our policies to the public. Then our relationship with the media can be maintained too," he said, Monday (12/23) night.

Related with Christmas and New Year celebrations, Teguh explained that Jakarta Provincial Government through related agencies and central government has prepared several steps to secure and smooth the celebration.

"The preparation includes preparing homecoming route and checking bus terminals and ports," he added.

Acording to him, the effort of securing Christmas and New Year will last until January 5.

Teguh stated that several events are also held to enliven Christmas and New Year in Jakarta such as MSME bazar, Christmas Carol, and Christmas Creative Market.

"Hopefully the events will also trigger our society to spread tolerance between religious communities," he continued.

Ahead of New Year, Jakarta Provincial Government is also to hold self-reflection, remembrance and prayer on December 30, 2024 at National Monument (Monas). It is predicted that 10,000 people will join the event.

"We'll invite various elements to pray together as our self-reflection," he said.

Then, Jakarta Provincial Government also holds Jejaki Kota Tua to retrace the Jakarta formation history.

"There are Bentang Harapan event will also be provided for residents to write their hope for Jakarta, and grand launching of 5 centuries of Jakarta," Teguh added.

The BMKG also delivered warning to Jakarta Provincial Government related with extreme weather potential that can trigger flood. Several anticipation steps are also prepared.

"We prepare the flood infrastructure, checking pump houses, river channel, water channel, and embankments," he stated.

Teguh then explained the PAM Jaya water tariff adjustment that will run on January 1, 2025.

PAM Jaya water tariff adjustment is not applied to all levels of society. Certain levels of society actually get a reduction in water tariffs.

According to Teguh, the adjustment has been carried out carefully and full of consideration. It is also applied to achieve 100 percent target of drinking water service in 2030.

"PAM Jaya water tariff is cheaper compared to other areas in Jabodetabek. It is still cheaper after being adjusted," Teguh stated.
